RECIPROCAL SLIP PROCEDURES For SYC Guests
Enter at the EAST ENTRANCE of Squalicum Harbor in Bellingham Bay. The Bellwether Hotel will be on your starboard. Follow the main channel towards "M" Dock, which will be the fourth pier on your port; ”L” dock will be the fifth dock to port and “J” dock will be the last dock to port. Squalicum Yacht Club (SYC) Reciprocal Slips are #11 and #19 on “M” dock, #17 on “L” dock and #9 on "J" Dock.
Slips are available on a first come, first served basis. If a slip is available, a vacancy sign will be posted by the piling next to the slip. If there is no sign, the slip is not available to you (even though the slip is empty). Pull into the open slip. Secure your boat. Remove the vacancy sign. A pouch located on the dock box will contain, along with other helpful items, Squalicum Harbor Layout Map and a registration form.
You MUST sign in at the Harbor Office. The Harbor Office is at the big red star on the layout map, about a 10-minute walk from Gate 6. The Harbor office will take the bottom half of your completed Registration Form and will give you the combination to Gate 6. All gates are locked down 24/7. You may stay one night FREE. If you wish to stay longer, you MUST make prior arrangements with the Harbor Office; you MAY be required to move to another slip. Please leave a donation in the pouch to reimburse the slip owner for your use of electricity. Someone MUST remain on board your boat overnight. Should you leave the vessel, you must leave a note in a visible place advising how & where you can be reached in the event of an emergency.
SYC members, through the cooperation of the Port of Bellingham, make these Reciprocal Slips available to you. It is therefore important that you respect the rules for the usage of these slips. You are responsible for your actions and must take responsibility for damage to the Port's facilities, other boats and/or people caused by your actions. In using these facilities, you agree to hold harmless the Port of Bellingham, Squalicum Yacht Club and SYC members, for damages of any kind caused by your (including your guests) actions.
